Specific and complete marine incident investigations following incidents at sea, in coastal waters, on inland waterways, in marinas, or in boatyards.

The purpose of these investigations is to gain insight, through meticulous and objective investigation practices, into the steps and decisions which partly lead to and/or were responsible for an incident occurring.

This holistic investigation procedure concludes the causes of an incident as far as the facts can be ascertained. The findings can be enacted upon to improve safety in any respect, and this is the central objective of the investigation. This is not an exercise in apportioning blame.
